The motif of movement in painting has existed since the very beginning. One only needs to recall the running animals in the Lascaux caves, Murillo’s Madonnas rising toward the sky, the rushing train in Turner’s paintings, or the spinning bicycle chain in Simpson’s poster by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.

When confronting this subject, I see it from yet another perspective, asking myself: how can movement be painted? How can dynamism be captured? How can speed be expressed? How can one depict something that seems impossible to grasp precisely because it is so fleeting? — said Rafał Kapica.

We were the organizers of Rafał Kapica’s painting exhibition. We had the opportunity to co-create this event in collaboration with SQArt Gallery in Bytom. We were also able to invite our partners to take part in the project: CBS Calpe Biking and Summer, the Rowerowy Bytom Association, and Piękna Strona Miasta.
